Why I don't go to Florida
This isn’t the end all of lists, I’ll add to it in the future. These are observations I’ve made over the years on family vacations. The fly-in/fly-out crowds don’t see a lot of this. You really have to drive through the state to get a real taste.
This is in no particular order:
- The highest points in Florida are landfills converted to parks.
- Car Washes are necessary every few days to clean the dirt and bugs off off.
- Every homeowner needs to armor their home with bullet proof glass or storm shutters.
- The elected state government.
- The public education system (evicerated by state government)
- Trump lives there.
- Its the lightning capitol of the country.
- Hurricanes
- Floods
- Fire Ants
- Love Bugs
- Aligators
- Crazy expensive home owners insurance
- Miami is sinking
- Disney is unaffordable
- The water table is only a foot below ground.
- Lack of diversity
- Home to one of the craziest retirement communities in the country.
- Outdoor pools need cages to keep out bugs and critters.
- Brownouts
- Sargassum seaweed
- Red tide
- Gas stations don’t stock bottled non-sweet tea/coffee. It’s either sweet or more sweet.
- Dashcams are practically required equipment because of the nutto drivers.
- Sinkholes
